Curious, old soul?

About

Welcome to The Newfangled Times

Part-time advertisers and marketers; full-time nostalgia junkies, finding ourselves becoming ever-obsessed about history, and how the times have changed.

Have they changed for better, or, are we overcomplicating things?

We want to explore the newfangled times we’re living in; a light-hearted view, and jovial commentary of a world where we take things too seriously.

A wistful and dewy-eyed deep-dive into history, harkening back to the way things were, compared to how they are now.

The Newfangled Times was conceived as a blog, offering a jovial take on the current world we’re living in, and how times have changed. It was through this exploration, and our love for classic print media and vintage advertisements, we realised we had lost sight of the time-honoured principles of marketing and advertising.

The power of words; stories, anecdotes and experiences that take you on a journey. Creativity and design that captivates, inspires and induces an indelible and everlasting impression, that you remember forever.

This gave birth to the magazine, which sets out to welcome the ‘newfangled’ affairs of today, whilst embracing the classical principles of print media that we have lost sight of.

We wanted to revive these time-honoured principles, evolving into providing media services for businesses, entrepreneurs and aspirational individuals, in order to grow their brand. Go back to producing quality content, through copywriting and creative design, allowing them to nurture those classical principles we have lost sight of in the modern media age.

About the founder…

Hi, I’m Dan. Living in London, hailing from Coventry but, generally speaking, I’ve always believed i’m from wherever I happen to be.

Living in the moment, carpe diem etc. etc… I’m sure I saw on a pillow somewhere.

I’m naturally curious, or, nosy as onlookers often interpose, fascinated by history. I seldom wander without thinking about what somewhere might have been like in the past; who, and what, used to be here? How has it changed?

The people. The architecture. The food. The culture.

Having lived in New York City, residing in London, you can’t help but expose yourself to their boundless history; their drastic evolution into the places we now know.

All of which, inspired The Newfangled Times.

These days, almost habitually, I find myself far more interested in the history of something, than I am as its exists today.

Ever-drawn towards retro posters, vintage postcards and relics of yesteryear. Forensically inspecting them and foray into their antiquity.

The truth is, i’m still trying to figure out why.

I want to arouse that curiosity, and explore that intrigue, sharing some thoughts along the way.

I like the way we used to do things. We let words and creativity speak for themselves, and captivate audiences.

We want to relive the ‘good old days’. Use the creative flair that we have lost sight of, through nostalgia, to stand out in these newfangled times.

We’re grateful to you for stopping by, feel free to share our thoughts with anyone you deem it worth sharing to. I hope you enjoy what we have to say as much as we enjoy writing it.

Please, get in touch with any recommendations you may have; anything in these ‘newfangled times’ worth talking about; we want to hear from you!
